Stonham Barns Sunday Car Boot this Sunday from 8am, Sell from only Five Pounds. Great buying crowds at Stonham Barns and this Sunday packed with the Car Show crowd too..

114 sellers last Sunday and we have the Classic Car Show this Sunday as well so, it's another huge crowd at Stonham. Take advantage & turn up & sell from Five Pounds. Covered stalls Ten Pounds (you can pre book these only but hurry up this week as they'll go fast). More good weather expected this Sunday.

Stonham Barns Sunday Car Boot is on this Sunday, 20th August 2017 and every Sunday until the end of November. Just turn up & sell at the car boot from only Five Pounds. We have had great numbers of sellers and buyers at Stonham Barns Car Boot this year as it's such a relaxed and Friendly Sunday Car Boot where you can sell without being hassled. We are in our 5th year now and we are growing each year. So, if you want to sell just turn up at 8am or alternatively hurry up & pre-book the covered stalls (only 20 of these and they are very popular. These always sell quickly). Text 07817539168 to reserve one. Remember that these also offer some welcome shade. You can turn up on the day without booking and sell from Five Pounds.

Everyone loves the friendly atmosphere, the non-aggressive buyers and a good old-fashioned traditional Car Boot. So, 8am start as usual on Sunday. Just turn up and sell from Five Pounds. Events often run at the same time as the Car Boot so make sure you check the events page. This Sunday is the Classic Car Show (August 20th) which will definitely be packed. After that the next one is the Low Collective German Car Show on September 10th and the Antique and Collectors Fayre on the 17th September. Ideal days to sell at the Car Boot with extra crowds on those days. I will also try and add all the various Car Meets and activities that will bring extra crowds on the Sundays. When the events are on the visitors park next to the Car Boot..

Stonham itself sees many new shops and a new restaurant as well as the popular Owl Sanctuary, Golf/FootGolf and a growing number of craft shops so, the whole experience on a Sunday is also improving. We also have some additional hard ground with lots more coming next year.

As usual you can just turn up from 8am and sell from Five Pounds small Vans are Seven Pounds Fifty, Large Vans Ten Pounds or alternatively use the Covered stalls (Ten Pounds) which are really popular and offer you the chance to sell without having to bring a table. Text your number plate quickly to reserve one (07817539168). These are held till 8.15am only on a Sunday or text if you are coming but delayed. We are on the big field so there's loads of room without extra charges for space taken. When you enter Stonham take the left into the field and wait to be positioned. Gazebos welcome, especially when the weather is potentially poor. We will always try and open (last year we did not open on only one Sunday in the season).

Walk with a Fork , 3rd September 2017, 10:30 to 16:00 at Helmingham Hall (6.6 miles)
Celebrate the very best of Suffolkwith forks at the ready

Its the perfect combination beautiful Suffolk views and delicious local food and drink at Ormiston Families flagship event Walk with a Fork.

Back for its fifth year, Walk with a Fork will be at Helmingham Hall on 3rd September. The beautiful 16th-century hall and estate, on the outskirts of Ipswich, has recently been named as the Historic House Associations garden of the year.

The seven mile walk has been chosen by Lady Tollemache of Helmingham Hall who is also Ormiston Families president, and includes beautiful vistas, architecture and hidden valleys not usually seen by members of the public.

After five years of support since the Suffolk Walk with a Fork began, Mackenzie-David Events will once again be sponsoring the event, along with Aspall, bringing some of the finest cuisine and cyder the local area has to offer.

Mackenzie-David Events has been confirmed as the main lunch stop, providing venison kofta with coleslaw, salad and yoghurt which walkers can wash down with a refreshing Aspall cyder. The lunch stop will also feature home-grown musical entertainment to be confirmed later in the summer.

On arrival breakfast will be served by the tea rooms at Helmingham Hall, and the walk concludes with award winning Alder Tree Cream Ice. Other producers supporting the event include The Fish Hut, with some of Suffolks best fish and chips, James White Drinks, Suffolk Salami, Fairfield Farm Crisps and The Cheese & Pie Man.

Gavin Lamb, relationship and events manager at Ormiston Families, said: Weve been so pleased with the success Walk with a Fork has had over the years, and are especially looking forward to bringing the event back to Helmingham Hall this year.

The combination of the beautiful Suffolk countryside and delicious local food and drink make for a great day out, and all while raising vital funds which allow us to continue our work with children, young people and families across the East of England.

We are so grateful to Helmingham Hall for having us, our sponsors and all of our fantastic suppliers.

Tickets are £23 per person and children under 5 go free. Dogs are welcome. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: www.ormiston-families.eventbrite.com

If you are a local food or drink producer and would like to get involved, please contact Gavin on: gavin.lamb@ormistonfamilies.org.uk or 01473 705034.

Proceeds from Walk with a Fork will go towards Ormiston Families vision of a world in which every child will be loved, nurtured and valued. The charitys work supporting children and young people is wide ranging, from mental health services, help to bridge the gap between home and school, to support for imprisonment, domestic abuse and much more.

IAA Lunchtime Lecture - Charles II: Mystery of the Ancient House, 14th September 2017, 13:00 to 14:00 at Museum Street Methodist Church, entrance via, Black Horse Lane, Ipswich (6.5 miles)
John Sutton asks "Did Charles II hide in Ipswich's Ancient House during his epic flight after the battle of Worcester in 1651?" While compelling evidence exists to refute this idea, a more distant association between the two can be established. For the woman who played the most vital role in Charles II's preservation - the royalist heroine Jane Lane - almost certainly took refuge in the Ancient House when she herself was on the run shortly after the Merry Monarch's Great Escape. This is a tale of derring-do, intrigue and suspense. Admission is free with a retiring collection to defray expenses. Donations of at least two pounds per head are valued to maintain the series. Tea and coffee are served from 12.30pm.
